1) This is based on the narration by Ibn abbas "The prophet (peace be upon him) went of his house on the day of fitr prayed two rakah and did not pray before or after it" [Al Bukhari]
2) Imam ibn qayyim says "Neither he (peace be upon him) nor his companions prayed when they arrived at the musalla-before the prayer or after it" [Zaad al maad 2:443]
3) Imam ibn hajar says "There is no confirmed sunnah prayer before or after id prayer-contrary to those compare it to jumaah prayer" [Fath ul bari 2:476]
what about 2 rakah upon entering the masjid before the eid pray?

1) Abu said al khudri narrates: "The prophet (peace be upon him) would not pray at all before the id prayer but when returned to his house he prayed" [Musnad Ahmad and Ibn Majah- isnad hasan by Imam albani]
2) Commenting on this hadith Imam albani says "The negation of praying before and after the id prayers refers only praying at the MUSALLA" [Irwa Ghalil 3:100]
3) So basically Sheikh Muhammad al jibali says in Iyad fil islam "No sunnah prayer before or after Id paryer except if performed in a masjid instead of a musalla in which case one must pray two rakah before sitting down" [Iyyad fil islam page 25]
